What’s Happening Over Family Day Weekend

Canadian Museum of Flight

Date: Monday, February 16 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

You and your family can dive into BC’s aviation history with a day of interactive fun. The museum opens its doors for special Family Day programming, featuring games, crafts, scavenger hunts, and numerous opportunities to explore vintage aircraft up close, including the chance to sit in a jet cockpit when weather permits. It’s a unique way to spark curiosity in kids and adults alike as you wander through historic planes and engaging exhibits together.

Family Day at the Fort

Date: Saturday, February 14

Family Day at the Fort on February 14 brings a full day of hands-on fun at Fort Langley National Historic Site. Youth 17 and under enjoy free admission, with plenty to explore, including live demonstrations, bannock baking, and interactive scavenger hunts throughout the site.

Langley Riverman Hockey Game

Dates: Friday, February 13 and Saturday, February 14

Family Day weekend is a great excuse to settle into the stands and cheer on the Langley Rivermen as they take the ice for back-to-back BCHL games at George Preston Recreation Centre. It’s classic junior hockey, close to home, and an easy win for families who love a lively rink and a shared cheer. Don’t forget to grab your tickets early!

The Greater Vancouver Zoo

Dates: February 14-16 with extended hours. Open until 8:00 pm during Family Day weekend

Spend the day exploring animals from around the world, learning about conservation, and enjoying fun experiences for all ages. Highlights include up-close animal encounters and keeper talks where you can hear fascinating stories about the zoo’s residents. Vancouver Giants Hockey Game

Recreation fun with the Township of Langley

Dates: Saturday, February 14 to Monday, February 16

Celebrate BC Family Day with the Township of Langley for a weekend full of fun, connection, and discovery for all ages. Families are invited to get active together with special Family Day programming, including yoga, tot romp, swimming, skating, and engaging opportunities to learn about Langley’s local history.

Enjoy free skate and helmet rentals at all Family Day skates, plus extra excitement from special guests like a glitter tattoo artist, magician, and balloon twisters at Walnut Grove Community Centre, and a cheerful clown bringing smiles at W.C. Blair. Over at salishan Place by the River, families can explore a unique historical display, take part in hands-on learning, create take-home art inspired by local heritage, and learn about traditional First Nations tools with Kwantlen Nation Elder Karen Gabriel.
